Today marks the fifth anniversary of the passing away of Savita Halappanavar.
Galway Pro-Choice like many other groups all over Ireland held vigils for her today to honour her memory. In attendance were some of Savita’s family and friends, the local public and members of various organisations fighting for the choice of every woman in Ireland.
I wanted to photograph the vigil as a mark of remembrance and so people who couldn’t make it could feel like they were there too.
Saturday 30th September saw thousands of people descend on the streets of Dublin to #MarchForChoice. We marched to repeal the 8th amendment. We marched for full body autonomy. We marched for equality and for choice. Most of all we marched for those who couldn’t.
